A Gay Marriage Debate
Him: there should not be any laws made for your sick perverted life styles as gay people. .... You guys are sick... and perverted.... dont understand what about being gay that you guys don't understand as being sick and perverted.... its wrong... says both me, and the bible... Yes, I said it.. the bible... you know the holy book you guys hate...all gay people hate.... YES I said it... HATE holiness... and hate the word...."obey God" ... cause in order to follow through with that you must stop your gay life styles...
Me: There are many interpretations of the Bible. But the most consistent message throughout all those is the love of Christ. When we use the Bible to demonize, marginalize, and justify our personal dislike of certain groups of people, whether it was slavery in the 1800's, interracial couples in the 1960's, or gay and lesbian couples today. When I look at Christ's message of loving those that society hates, and read scripture after scripture about doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, and loving your neighbor as yourself, and judge not lest ye be judged. Even if I may interpret certain other scriptures wrong. I will always err on the side of love, The side of Christ. Because I do not want to stand before God and have Him ask me why I treated Him so poorly, because what ever you do unto the least of these, you do unto Me.
Him: Cause you love darkness rather than light ...its really not that hard to understand Aaron... Just try a little. But, u don't even want to consider it... Ha.
Me: Born and raised Christian. Very active in my church. I love God, and I love the teachings of Christ. I went to Oral Roberts University, and excitedly sought the truth. I soon learned how the Bible was compiled, and how it was interpreted, and how words in the Bible are CONSTANTLY being changed as scholars learn more. I learned how the Bible was genuinely misinterpreted and used to mistreat others. And I learned that what I often heard preached at me from a pulpit, though the words "sounded right" flew in the face of what Christ taught us. Don't tell me I'm a hater of truth or love. Because you haven't walked in my shoes, and you can not know my heart. My relationship with Christ is mine and mine alone, and no one on earth can take that away from me.
Him: Yes Aaron... I see your point... You out grew the truth. You like millons of other church goers that sits in church pews every week... That are false converts.& .. Find themselves in odds against the holy truth. One way u can judge if your a false convert is look at your view on holiness and truth. Jesus is the way.. and truth... That's pretty bad to admit you attended ORU and church and still reject the truth of the word.. sounds like another scripture... Where Satan said to Eve.. "you surely won't die".. if only she would have stood on what God said things would have turned out different.
